Our Commitment to Donors and the Public

At the Lakeshore Corridor Community Team (LCCTeam), we take donor trust seriously. We adhere to the principles outlined in Imagine Canada’s Ethical Fundraising and Financial Accountability Code. This means we are committed to honesty, transparency, responsible stewardship of resources, and full obedience with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and Ontario’s Charities Accounting Act.

2024 Community Impact
With the generous support of our donors and partners, the LCCTeam was able to deliver meaningful support to vulnerable families in Mississauga’s Lakeshore Corridor:
  • 22 local children sent to summer camp through Cues-4-Campers, raising $2,635.00
  • 24 families were supported during the holidays through Gift of Christmas, with $2,900.00 in direct assistance
  • Charitable giving to trusted community partners included:
    • $2,000.00 to The Compass Food Bank & Outreach Centre
    • $250.00 to the Diaper Drive
    • $350.00 to The Shoebox Project
    • $400.00 to the Charles Sousa Turkey Drive
    • $500.00 to T’was the Bite Before Christmas
We are proud that more than most of our expenditures in 2024 directly supported charitable programs, events, and donations to other registered charities.

How We Protect Donor Rights

LCCTeam affirms that all donors are entitled to:
  • Receive an official tax receipt for all eligible donations
  • Remain anonymous if requested
  • Access our most recent financial statements, T3010 filing, and annual report upon request
  • Know whether a fundraiser is a volunteer, staff member, or contractor
  • Have their personal information kept secure and confidential
  • Be removed from our contact or mailing lists at any time
  • Raise concerns or complaints and receive a prompt, respectful response
  • We do not share, rent, or sell donor lists to any third-party organization.

Fundraising Practices

  • All solicitations clearly state our name and purpose
  • Our fundraising appeals are truthful, respectful, and consistent with our mission
  • We do not pay commissions or finders’ fees
  • Volunteers, staff, and any paid fundraisers are trained to follow this Code
  • Donors are encouraged to seek independent advice for large or complex gifts

Financial Accountability
  • All donations are used for approved charitable purposes aligned with our mission
  • All records are maintained in Ontario, in compliance with the Charities Accounting Act
  • Our books are reviewed annually by a licensed public accountant
  • Our T3010 Registered Charity Information Return is filed with the CRA annually and is publicly available
  • We monitor and evaluate the cost-effectiveness of our fundraising and operations each year
