The holiday season is upon us, and the Lakeshore Corridor Community Team (LCCTeam) is proud to announce our annual Gift of Christmas celebration. This heartwarming event, scheduled for December 15th, 2024, brings together our community to create unforgettable memories for local families facing challenges during the holiday season. A Day Filled with Joy This year's celebration promises to be extra special with an exclusive live holiday performance by the talented Carla Gonzalez, who will entertain our guests with festive music that will surely get everyone into the holiday spirit. The event will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #82 in Port Credit, where families will enjoy a traditional turkey lunch with all the trimmings, special visits from Santa, and engaging holiday games and activities. It is with heavy hearts that we share news of the passing of our beloved friend and founding member, Tobyn Matson (January 15, 1970 - October 27, 2024). A pillar of our organization from its earliest days, Tobyn embodied the true spirit of community service that defines the LCCTeam .Those who knew Tobyn will fondly remember her infectious enthusiasm, especially during our Paddle For The People events. Her leadership at the dock operations became legendary, as she fearlessly waded through waters and rallied volunteers with her characteristic blend of determination and good humor.
In recent years, Tobyn's dedication extended to serving as treasurer for both the LCCTeam and Mississauga Beer Festival, while remaining an active volunteer with the Port Credit Southside Shuffle. Her warmth and ability to connect with others strengthened the fabric of our entire Lakeshore Corridor community. The countless lives Tobyn touched through her volunteer work stand as a testament to her generous spirit and commitment to making our community a better place. Her bright smile, kind heart, and unwavering dedication will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. A celebration of Tobyn's life will be held at a date to be announced. We will share these details as they become available. The LCCTeam Board of Directors |
