Stronger Together: Celebrating Our 2026 Giving Milestones and Gearing Up for a Rain-or-Shine Paddle for the People!

​Since our volunteer-run charity was founded in 1999, the Lakeshore Corridor Community Team (LCCTeam) has operated under a simple, powerful guiding motto: "neighbours helping, neighbours." We believe that when we support the most vulnerable in our Lakeshore corridor area, we build a stronger, more resilient Mississauga for everyone.

As we hit the mid-way mark of 2026, we want to share a few incredible milestones that your generosity has made possible this year:

• Sending Mississauga Kids to Camp: On June 1, 2026, we proudly presented a $4,000 cheque to the Saga Summer Camp program at Clarkson Community Church in Clarkson, Mississauga. This donation ensures local children can experience the joy, growth, and community of summer camp. A significant portion of these funds was raised directly through your participation and donations at our Cues-4-Campers Charity Billiards Tournament at The Crooked Cue in Port Credit.
• Relieving the Burden of Pediatric Illness: We donated $3,000 to The Parking Foundation. This contribution funds complimentary hospital parking passes for pediatric oncology and ICU families, removing a stressful financial barrier so parents can focus entirely on their child's recovery.
• Immediate Grassroots Relief: We provided $1,200 in gas and grocery gift cards to Sacha Gendron's Good Deeds Project to help local Port Credit families secure immediate, daily essentials during difficult times.​

Join the Fun: Paddle for the People 2026!Now, we are gearing up for our biggest, most exciting summer tradition, and we need your hands on deck! Mark your calendars for the 15th Annual Paddle for the People Charity Fundraiser:

• Date: Saturday, August 22, 2026
• Time: 11:30 am
• Location: Royal Canadian Legion Branch 82, 35 Front St., N., Port Credit
• Cost: $350 per pedal boat team

This event goes on rain or shine, and we promise a high-energy, fun-filled day for the whole family! Whether the sun is beaming or we get a little summer rain, our volunteer crew will be out in full force keeping the energy high, operating our classic skill-testing games, and managing the silent auction. Registered teams will also enjoy a delicious BBQ lunch and dinner to fuel up after their pedal boat races.

How You Can Make a Difference TodayWe are asking our wonderful supporters to help us in three ways:

1. Volunteer Your Time: We need energetic, fun-loving volunteers to join us rain or shine to help run games, assist with registration, and cheer on the racers! It is a fantastic way to meet your neighbours and give back to your community.
   
   
2. Register a Team: Gather your friends, family, or co-workers and enter a pedal boat team for $350.
   
   
3. Donate Online: If you cannot make it in person, you can still support our ongoing local initiatives—including our Gift of Christmas Event, the Impressionable Gifts Diaper Drive, and local food initiatives through The Compass—by donating through our official CanadaHelps page.
